President - Ann Tess

I have been employed with Greenville Fire/Rescue since 1983 and am thankful everyday that I work at a job that I enjoy. I received my BS Degree in Human Resource Management from Barton College and am a graduate of the Municipal Administration Course at UNC School of Government.
In 2007 I founded the NC Fire & Rescue Administrative Professionals group which is a network of staff support professionals sharing knowledge of our trade through quarterly meetings across the state.
In my spare time I volunteer as a wish grantor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina. I also volunteer at the American Cancer Society’s McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge as a receptionist. I serve on the board of the REAL Crisis Center in Greenville and the Fire Protection Technology Advisory Committee at Wilson Community Technical College. I am a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. In January 2009, I started my own business as a Sales Consultant for Miche Handbags (one bag with endless possibilities). All of these activities keep me busy -- and they say if you are busy you stay young!!
My greatest gifts in life are my children and my two granddaughters. I am proud to say that my name is Grandma!
I have been a member of BPWN for several years and served as Membership Chair for 3 years. I look forward to serving as President this year and will do my best to live up to the high standards the previous officers have set in place.
